HIGHLIGHT - Mollieverse
EPISODE VI: GAME ON!
Project Overview
As a graphic designer at Brownys Events Productions, I had the opportunity to lead the creative direction for Mollieverse Episode VI: Game On!, a bold and vibrant celebration of Mollie’s 20th anniversary. Held at Camping Kallumaan, the event brought together urban, beach, and festival vibes, hosting up to 1,500 guests. My role spanned from concept development through to final delivery, ensuring everything aligned perfectly with the client's vision. I handled client communication, gathered feedback, and guided my team to refine and deliver a cohesive visual experience. I was also responsible for overseeing the creation of motion graphics, making sure all visual elements were true to the event’s branding.
My primary responsibility was to develop the branding. This involved:
- The creation of event signage and branding materials, from custom wristbands and maps to venue signage and a layer tower.
- Designing and animating motion graphics.
- Ensuring client satisfaction.
Concept & Execution
The theme of the event was Space Invader Summer, blending retro gaming with festive summer vibes. Mollie’s previous brand book drew heavily from the classic Space Invader aesthetic, so we built on that, evolving it into something fresh. After several rounds of feedback, we finalized a concept that merged arcade visuals with camping motifs, presented in an energetic daytime theme. To enhance the night experience, we created a nighttime version, though Mollie opted for the daytime visuals as the main theme.
Motion Graphics
One of the highlights was creating two motion graphics for the plenary sessions where Yoda made a surprise appearance. The challenge was to craft visuals with a retro 80s/90s video effect style, paying homage to Star Wars. I developed a screenplay and storyboard, ultimately producing a motion graphic inspired by 90s/00s Nintendo games like Pokémon. We even sourced a voice actor to nail that iconic Yoda presence in the arcade-themed sequence.
The event was a massive success, blending nostalgic gaming vibes with Mollie’s modern identity, leaving a lasting impression on all the attendees.
